PRINCETON, KS (KCTV) -

A man accused of stealing an ATM in Princeton, KS last month was arrested late Monday morning.

A sergeant and a detective with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office arrested 33-year-old Jason M. Smith at 11:45 a.m. in the parking lot of Newman Memorial Hospital in Emporia, KS.

The Emporia Police Department also assisted in Smith's arrest.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office obtained an arrest warrant for Smith and had been following up on leads they received since the incident.

"I'm happy to announce that we got him," Jeff Curry of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said. "Our guys were receiving tips daily, and were working hard on following up on those tips. Finding someone who is on the run is not an easy task, but I'm glad we were able to arrest him and to do so without incident."
