Dave Jordan - KCTV5

Dave Jordan

Dave Jordan joined KCTV 5 News in January of 2012 as a general assignment reporter.

Prior to joining KCTV 5 News, Dave worked in New Orleans where he covered a number of stories including federal corruption trials involving NOPD officers and politicians, severe weather and the city's famed Mardi Gras celebration.

During his previous tenure KWTV-TV in Oklahoma City, Dave launched several investigations and broke several stories. His investigation into Snyder City Government led to the resignation of three city council members, including the Mayor and triggered an investigation by the State Auditor's office which concluded that funds were misappropriated. In a separate investigation, Dave uncovered documents that showed the state legislature was looking into closing three prisons and replacing them with private facilities. Senate leaders initially denied those plans were in the works. Dave also obtained exclusive video of an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper choking a paramedic during the transport of a patient. His coverage of that attack made headlines nationwide and led to the trooper's suspension. As a result of this story, Dave was awarded a 1st Place Award for Investigative Journalism by the Society of Professional Journalists/Oklahoma Chapter.

Other reporting jobs included a stint at KARK-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas, WJCL-TV in Savannah, Georgia and Bloomberg Business News, where his articles appeared in newspapers across the country, including the New York Times.

When he's not covering stories, Dave enjoys exercising, reading and visiting relatives in the Caribbean and his native New York City.
