Mystery continues after more sightings of strange lights in night sky

BLUE SPRINGS, MO (KCTV) -

The mystery continues after more eyewitnesses from across the world come forward after seeing what some are calling UFOs.

Investigators still don't know what the strange lights were over Blue Springs, but more people are seeing the flashing objects. KCTV5 received several calls and emails from eyewitnesses.

Blue Springs residents aren't the only ones scratching their heads in disbelief from these nightly nocturnal visitors. The Missouri UFO network has been inundated with reports since KCTV5's original story last week.

UFOs over Blue Springs? Strange objects hover over night sky

"I literally can't get any work done because of the amount of correspondence. There is a lot of interest in it from people who haven't seen anything, and a lot of calls from people who have seen things," said Margie Kay with Missouri UFO Network.

KCTV5 received numerous emails after the initial story was posted online.

"The May 24 UFO sighting is the same object/orb seen here in New Hampshire back in March," one reader said.

Another email reads, "I would like to report that the same case was noticed also in Croatia."

And closer to home, "I live in Liberty and saw the same thing a few years ago. I figured it was just a planet."

After Kay first spotted the lights last week, she made three visits to a park a mile away from that Blue Springs neighborhood where they first made an appearance.

"On two of those nights, the object appeared and we were able to look at it through high-powered binoculars," Kay said.

Kay asked to see KCTV5's enhanced video, which confirmed what she had already suspected.

"See how they pulse back and forth? That is consistent with what we've seen on other nights," she said. "I'm a little bit scared myself. I don't know what it is."

KCTV5 checked back in with NORAD, and they said they do receive calls on strange sightings, but they don't keep track of where they come from or what the sightings are.

So the mystery continues.
