KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Arson investigators are looking into the cause of an early morning fire in a Kansas City, MO building.
Firefighters responded to a building fire near East 31st Street and East US 40 Highway about 4:45 Saturday morning. Upon arrival, they found burning wire and were able to put the fire out quickly.
Officials do not think the fire was electrical but instead suspect that someone attempted to burn the jacket off of the wires to get down to the copper wiring.
The fire caused an estimated $20,000 in damages and is still under investigation.
