OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -
An Overland Park family woke up to find their house on fire.
Flames broke out about 6 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 7800 block of Eby Street in Overland Park, KS.
Several people were inside when the fire sparked, but everyone was able to make it out safely.
Residents say it took some quick thinking to make sure every one got out OK.
"I woke up, and my mom is like, "call the fire department." So I call them. I find the kids, and I'm like, "come on kids get outside." The fire department told me to get everyone outside where it is safe," 14-year-old John Wessling said.
Firefighters put out the flames quickly, managing to save the home from any major damage.
Investigators are still trying to figure out how the fire started.
