KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Rob Schamberger's a talented local artist, a wrestling fan and totally embraces the fact that some people may think he's a little crazy to do what he's doing.

"Yeah, that's the word that's used all the time. Crazy," Schamberger said with a laugh.

That's because he's in the process of painting all 230 world wrestling champions. He's already finished a group that includes C.M. Punk, Harley Race, Jerry "The King" Lawler and The Iron Sheik.

His wife, Katy, is along for the ride, too.

"Totally crazy, totally crazy, but it's awesome. I'm so proud of him for really finding something he loves," Katy Schamberger said.

"She's a not-so-closeted wrestling fan. When we have Pay-Per-View parties over here, it's not uncommon for her to do a Rick Flair impersonation for everyone," Rob said of his wife.

Katy said she would love to go to another WrestleMania or a Royal Rumble. The two could just consider it research since Rob Schamberger still has 218 World Champs to paint.

"There's definitely no other art for wrestling like what I'm doing," Rob Schamberger said.

He's almost finished with the late Owen Hart.

"I put a lot more effort into it to make sure I was respectful to his legacy and his survivors," Rob Schamberger said of the Hart piece.

"His work across the board is phenomenal, but there's just something about these paintings that really is just inspiring," Katy Schamberger said. "I love it. Each one I get excited to see what he's going to do."
