KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Four new Red River Hog piglets will make their public debut at the Kansas City Zoo on Thursday.

Zoo guests can see the Red River Hogs and their 17-day-old piglets in the Congo section of Africa. The piglets with join their mom, Binti, and dad, Runty.

Zoo officials said the piglets weighed at birth about two pounds and will nurse from their mother for at least three months.

"Pig milk has nearly double the fat of cow or human milk, so they will grow quickly," zoo spokeswoman Julie Neemeyer said.

The piglets' parents weigh around a healthy 150 pounds each.

Zookeepers can tell them apart because one twitches its ear most of the time, one squeaks all  the time, one eats all the time and one is trying to cause trouble all the time.

The piglets have also been micro-chipped to ensure each its individual identity.
