KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Speculation is swirling around Kansas City-based AMC Theaters possibly selling its business to a Chinese company.

AMC is the second largest theater chain in the United States and is based in Kansas City, MO, with plans to move to Leawood.

According to The New York Times, AMC officials are in talks to either sell part or all of the movie theater business to the Wanda Group.

Negotiations have been off and on for about a year, and the deal is expected to value AMC around $1.5 billion.

There is no word yet on how a possible sale would affect workers in Kansas City.
