KCTV5 announced Friday that Alexis Del Cid is joining It's Your Morning as co-anchor.
Del Cid has spent the last eight years working as the morning show and noon show co-anchor at KOIN-TV in Portland, OR. She has served as a reporter and anchor at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, LA. She began her broadcast career as a general assignment reporter at WMAQ, a radio station in Chicago.
She later worked in Champaign, IL, and Albuquerque, NM.
A graduate of the University of Iowa, Del Cid is excited about returning home to the Midwest.
Her enthusiasm, journalistic integrity, community involvement and investigative background make her a great choice for It's Your Morning, said News Director Blaise Labbe.
"We are pleased to have Alexis join our KCTV5 team. We have made a solid commitment to providing our viewers with consistent and reliable news," Labbe said. "Alexis' solid and strong news background will enhance that commitment. She is very energetic and has a unique way of engaging viewers."
Del Cid will join the KCTV5 news team on Aug. 1.
Del Cid replaces Kelly Jones, who was announced Friday as the host of the new lifestyle show Better Kansas City. That program will debut in the fall.
