KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

It took 100 pounds of dynamite just 10 seconds to bring down a six-story medical building Sunday morning.

Developers blew up the 80,000 square foot building, which has been part of Research Medical Center's Brookside campus.

The Rockhill Greens senior living center will be built in the 6700 block of Troost Avenue on 13 acres by Research Medical Center and its developer.

The project has been five years in the making. Five buildings have been demolished on the site as part of the project.
