BASEHOR, KS (KCTV) -

Voters in Basehor go to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to keep the mayor and two city council members in office.

But it was a packed house Monday night for the city council meeting, as residents showed up one last time to sound off about their feelings of the current mayor.

Some Basehor residents are concerned that a new development that was denied Monday, will get back on the agenda and passed if Mayor Terry Hill is not recalled and two other council members removed.

The mayor faces a recall after a petition of more than 300 residents called for his removal.

Some claim Hill used his city credit card inappropriately.

"He has just been doing a lot of stuff. He doesn't wait for the council to make a decision on nothing; he goes in there and does it himself," said Robert Moore.

On Monday night, it was standing room only.

The mayors says he's disappointed with some residents.

"I think it's a sad time for the city of Basehor. It is my goal as mayor to bring the city back and turn this into the friendly town we all know and love and want to live in," said Hill.

Last week, a Leavenworth judge allowed Tuesday's recall election to proceed. Hill filed an appeal, but residents will vote whether to keep him or not.

"All I can do is reach out to the community and point out that I have provided the leadership this community needs. I have not done any of the things they've claimed in the recall," said Hill.
