From Donkey Kong to Charlie Sheen to the Brooklyn Bridge, people won't believe their eyes if they head to the Ward Parkway Mall.
"We've got a PEZ dispenser, we have Sunny with a Chance of Meatballs, we have a large cupcake in the other area," said Ellen Feldhausen with Harvesters of the sorts of food displays.
It's called Canstruction - beautiful art pieces made only from canned food.
It's the 11th year of the can competition and it's bigger than ever. Even some future engineers are involved.
"We're doing this through Olathe Northwest A.C.E. Mentors, it's an air, space and engineering group and its focus is architecture," said Shaun Finn, an Olathe Northwest Junior.
By the time everything is completed, nearly 40,000 cans will be used for the construction of these projects.
And all of those cans won't go to waste – they will be donated to Harvesters, an area food bank.
"It's a wonderful way for us to help people understand about the issue of hunger," said Feldhausen.
Most people KCTV5's Alan Shope spoke to on Wednesday said they put a ton of thought into their project, but others said they just needed a bit of inspiration.
"I just Googled Donkey Kong, looked at images and just brought it up," said Finn.
The exhibits are free and open to the public and you can even vote for your favorite. The online voting will take place Thursday through March 23.
