OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

On television shows like CSI, investigators use technology not yet invented to solve crimes in an hour.

Reality is far different.

For years, Johnson County's 12-person CSI unit has worked out of a garage-turned-crime lab in Mission, KS.

Investigators are now just weeks away from moving into a brand-new $28 million facility in Olathe.

The new lab is on 119th Street near Ridgeview Road in Olathe. Before that happens, CSI Supervisor Ryan Rezzelle gave KCTV 5's Matt Stewart an exclusive first look inside the building.
