Ebenezer the donkey dies at 32 years old

Posted: Updated:

Ebenezer, a beloved donkey who lived in Grandview, has died. He was 32 years old.

Shirley Phillips, who helped care for Ebenezer, told KCTV5's Brad Stephens that Ebenezer was euthanized about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

"He had been struggling all week with a shoulder injury he suffered Sunday, Feb. 5, when he slipped and went down in his pasture," Phillips said.

The donkey had become a Kansas City area celebrity. Many people would drive by to see him in his pasture, which was off Main Street in Grandview.

"This world was a better place because of Ebenezer and how he touched so many hearts," Phillips said.
