OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

Police are trying to track down a man who used a stolen truck to burglarize an Olathe business.

The truck crashed into the Olathe Trading Post & Pawn Shop near West 135th and East Santa Fe streets about 4 a.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived, they saw a man running away from the store.  So far, police say they have been unable to track him down.

A security camera captured the pickup crashing into the business. The impact shoved shelves several feet, causing rubble to rain down.

"It was probably the most terrifying experience I've had," owner Brian Anderson said. "Knowing what has happened to your business."

The bold burglar didn't realize on the other side of the brick wall were thick cinder blocks and support columns, which halted the truck in its tracks.

"The wall held up well," Anderson said. "There was only a small opening for them to try to get in. They never actually got in."

Police believe the same man drove through a gate at Don's tow on Kansas Avenue and managed to steal two vehicles. One of the stolen trucks crashed into the pawn shop.

"It's amazing what they will do," Anderson said.

The crook won't get him down but he hopes anyone with information will call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

"We should be up and normal again in a couple of days," Anderson said.
