Kansas City should see its first significant snowfall Monday morning.
And the snow will arrive just in time for the morning commute, KCTV5 Meteorologists Gary Amble and Chris Suchan said.
The National Weather Service is expected to issue a winter weather advisory later this weekend.
"After enduring a brutally cold Arctic air mass and a pretty sunny weekend, clouds will quickly increase late day Sunday into Sunday night. I expect to see snow gradually develop across Kansas and spread east into Missouri Sunday night into Monday morning," Suchan said.
The snow will diminish to light snow, sleet and drizzle in the afternoon, Suchan said.
The area is likely to see an inch to three inches of snow. Most of the Kansas City area could see two inches of snow.
