KCTV5 shows appreciation for local foster families

KCTV5 and KSMO are working to make sure some local kids have a happy Valentine's Day.

KCTV5 is teaming up with adoption services provider KVC to help host a pizza party that shows the station's appreciation for local foster families. As part of its core business, it also coordinates a comprehensive network of behavioral healthcare to support children and families in crisis.

The pizza party is taking place Saturday at 3 p.m. in the KVC's Ball Conference Center in Olathe.

Anyone can bring donations to KCTV5's station, located at 4500 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Fairway, KS, on Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The KVC has provided a wish list by age group that can be useful to generate some ideas if anyone would like to donate.

For teens:

  • MP3 Players
  • Digital cameras
  • Hoodies from Abercrombie and Fitch
  • Gift cards to McDonalds, Hot Topic, Sonic, Aeropostale, Walmart, Target

Mid-age kids (5-11 years old):

  • Lego sets
  • Remote control vehicles
  • Craft kits
  • Science kits

Toddlers (infant-4 years old):

  • Popular/educational toys (Elmo, Dora, Cabbage Patch Kids, Polly Pockets, Fisher Price, Leap Pad, etc.)
  • Building blocks
  • Books
