KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A local family is searching for answers after a woman was found dead in a Kansas City home.

The murder squad and the Kansas City, MO, Homicide Division have been activated, meaning police don't have any clear suspects and could use the public's help to solve the city's latest homicide.

"We just talked to her last night and she's gone today," said Kierra Matthews, a relative of the victim.

More than two dozen family members stood outside the home of an east Kansas City, MO, woman. The woman, Angela Randall, 46, lived alone.

"Our hearts go out to the family for this loss. She's very loved because we've probably had 30 different relatives come over that are very upset. Obviously we're here to help them feel comfortable and help them in any way we can," said Officer Darin Snapp with the KCMO Police Department.

About 2 p.m. Tuesday, Randall's body was found in the family room of her home. Relatives had been trying to reach her all morning, and when they couldn't, they went to check on her.

"There's obvious signs of trauma, so we are working this as a homicide. The murder squad has been called out," said Snapp.  "This is the most quiet neighborhood on the east side."

Her family has no idea who could have killed her.

"She doesn't have a problem with people. All her friends are older people," said Matthews.

"Hopefully someone saw something that can get us a timeframe," said Snapp.

Police are hoping someone can help them narrow down when the attack happened. Right now, all they know is, whatever happened, it was sometime after late Monday afternoon and Tuesday when that relative found Randall's body.

The answers are so few for a family not just grieving, but a family that's angry.

"That's my mother. I'm lost. She's gone and the only one who can answer this is gone," said Matthews. "You are going to get caught and get yours. That's all I have to say. You are going to get caught eventually."
