Rescue crews had to cut a driver and a passenger from a car after a serious accident involving a semi truck.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Rescue crews had to cut a driver and a passenger from a car after a serious accident involving a semi truck.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 70 just past Prospect Avenue on Kansas City's east side.

The fire department cut the driver and passenger out of the car, which was heavily damaged.

The condition of the driver and passenger are not known at this time.
