OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Police say a man stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from two Overland Park businesses.

Store security cameras captured pictures of the man as he pulled off the heists last week.

The combined worth of the jewelry taken is estimated at more than $10,000.

The suspect, described as a white man in his 40s, broke into a freestanding locked display case inside the Kmart at 94th and Metcalf Avenue on Jan. 21. According to detectives, the man had a female accomplice with him that acted as a lookout during the theft.

The second theft involving the same suspect happened on Jan. 25 at the Macy's store near 95th and Metcalf. According to detectives, the suspect punched a hole in the jewelry display counter, reached in and removed the jewelry.

Both thefts happened while the businesses were open.

Police believe the man may have left the scene driving a white Oldsmobile Cutlass with a red front bumper.

Detectives released four pictures of the man taken from surveillance cameras. The pictures are not the highest quality, but detectives are hoping someone will be able to identify the suspect. If you can help detectives identify the man, you're asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
