Crews from multiple agencies were on scene after a car was found in the river of a Kansas town located southeast of Kansas City.
Deputy Rick Howell with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department said their crews were looking into a car that was found in the river at Riverfest Park located off West 79th Street in De Soto, KS.
A man walking his dog in the area first noticed the car partially submerged in the Kaw River and called authorities about 2 p.m.
The vehicle, a gray or silver passenger car, was in the water about 50 yards from the river's south shoreline.
Howell said sheriff's deputies and an Overland Park Water Rescue team worked together to find out if anyone was in the car. They had to first cut down trees and brush in order to remove the car from the water.
The car was pulled up from the river just before 5 p.m. and no one was found inside, however it was reported stolen out of Overland Park sometime after midnight Wednesday.
This is the second time this week a car has been floating in a Kansas river. Click here to read the earlier incident.
