A woman told police that a man armed with a large knife forced her from her car and stole it Friday afternoon.
Police said the carjacking occurred just before 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 9700 block of Rosehill Road.
The woman said the man stole her red Crystal Sebring while she was in a parking lot. The woman was not injured and called for help.
Police said the man drove the stolen car south on Rosehill Road before another officer spotted him. Police said the carjacker stopped at 105th Street and Rosehill Road and tried to run.
A neighbor, who saw about a dozen police cars in front of his home, said the man jumped the fence.
The carjacker made it through several backyards before police caught him. The victim was not hurt.
