Project Warmth drive ends and raffle winners announced

Posted: Updated:

The annual Project Warmth drive has ended at KCTV5 with strong support from viewers.

The drive helps provide low-income residents with coats during the winter months.

A telethon was held Dec. 9 for Project Warmth. There was a raffle held to benefit Project Warmth. So far, the telethon raised $10,032 and more totals are still being added up.

The following people are raffle ticket prize winners. They will be contacted Tuesday.

AB May/Trane Furnace – Robert Mahoney

$500 gift Card to the Country Club Plaza – Dolores Leverette

Two nights at the Sheraton Overland Park – Hylton Turner

One-night in the Tuscany Suite at Chateau Avalon – Betty Engen

One-night stay in a condo at The Oread Hotel – Rebecca Hatch

KCTV5 viewers were asked to drop-off new or gently used coats and blankets between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the station's studios. Scarves, gloves and mittens were also accepted. While donating at KCTV5 ended Friday, anyone who still wishes to help out can contact the Salvation Army.

Prizes included a furnace and installation from AB May and Trane valued at $1,650, a $500 gift certificate to the Country Club Plaza, a $450 gift certificate for a one-night stay at the Chateau Avalon in the Tuscany Suite and a $250 gift certificate for a two-night stay at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel. A final prize added later was a one-night stay in a condo at the Oread hotel in Lawrence, which is valued at $500.

Congratulations to all the winners and, from all of us at KCTV5, we sincerely thank each and every person who donated.
