FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -

Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller says the search for a missing 22-year-old Fairfield woman is one of the most challenging searches he has ever been involved in.

Miller has led his organization on more than 1200 searches in the last eleven years. The search for Katelyn Markham is difficult, he says, because, "A majority of the time there is something to lead us in some right direction, but we have nothing."

Miller and colleague David Radar spent Wednesday scouting areas to search, looking at dozens of maps of Butler County. Thursday's search will focus within a five to eight mile radius of Markham's townhome, the last place she was seen the night of August 13th.

Radar describes the places he's searching for as, "Places that are very densely wooded. Places where you can dump something without being seen and get away."

Search organizers say volunteers can expect going through bushes and through ravines, covering every piece of ground in hopes of finding Katelyn.

Miller says despite very little information to go off of, it's important to stay focused. He adds, "We've got to do something and take a chance. If something did happen to her better chance to recover evidence and determine and a cause of death."

Miller has not given a timetable to how long he will be in town to help, and says he judges on a day by day basis.

"We've found them a mile away before and we've found them 280 miles away. We don't have a starting point, so we don't have a stopping point. So everyday we'll evaluate what we're doing.

Katelyn Markham, 22, of Fairfield, was last seen by her fiancee the night of Aug. 13. Markham is 5'3" tall, 130 lbs., with green eyes, brown hair with blonde streaks. If you have any information call Fairfield Police at 513-829-8201. The command center for Thursday's search will be at Fairfield West Baptist Church located at 5345 Muskopf Road.
