RAYMORE, MO (KCTV) -

Parents and students in the Raymore School District are warned to keep an eye out for a man who approached two students this week in a suspicious manner.

Police say the man in a black Nissan acted suspiciously in his contact with the two girls. The two students were walking home from school Tuesday afternoon in the Foxhaven subdivision when the contact occurred.

A parent filed a report with police.

The man did not make an attempt to abduct children, but acted suspicious, police said. He was "loitering in his vehicle" near Pelham and Huntsman streets in the subdivision.

"It does appear that this person did stop and start to address the two girls, but they were alarmed and ran off," according to a news release from the city. "We do not know his intentions...Our purpose for locating (him) is merely investigator at this time."

Raymore police provided additional patrols Wednesday afternoon as children walked home. The school district notified its staff and bus company drivers to keep an eye out.
