Cherise Leclerc anchors the 4, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts for CBS 3 Springfield.
She joined the CBS 3 Springfield team in the summer of 2011 as a general assignment reporter.
She's proud to be a part of the team that won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for the coverage of the June 2011 tornado.
She has also been recognized by the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association for her reporting on fallen police officers at National Police Week in Washington, D.C.
Cherise loves reporting on Western Mass news because it's where she was born and raised. She graduated Summa cum laude and with Honors of Greatest Distinction from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she majored in communication and Spanish.
Cherise began her career in television as a production intern at WGBY Public Broadcasting in Springfield. She was also fortunate to work as a News Intern for the Senior Vice President of News at FOX News Channel in Manhattan. While interning for FNC, she helped complete several segments of "Rise of Freedom" with Shepard Smith and she also hosted the intern segment "This Week in History".
A lover of traveling and learning about different cultures, Cherise spent a semester in Barcelona, Spain where she studied Global Media and Spanish at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She also studies classical harp at the Gershwin Theatre in Manhattan and is a participant in the Miss America Organization. She loves to travel, read and spend time with her Chihuahua, Leila.
