OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

The American Heart Association is holding an annual event later this month to raise money for life-saving research.

The 16th annual Kansas City Festival of Wine and Food will be held Saturday night at the Overland Park Convention Center.

Scott Kashman, the festival's chair, said the event is a great opportunity to help vital research and enjoy a fabulous taste of Kansas City.

"Getting involved with the association, on any level, will make Kansas City a model for healthier communities across the country," Kashman said.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. More great wines from around the world and tasty Kansas City food will be featured.

Tickets start at $75. For more information, click here.

KCTV5 It's Your Morning anchor Kelly Jones will serve as mistress of ceremonies.

The Standard Beverage Corp. founded the event in 1996, which has raised nearly $1.5 million for important programs, such as Life's Simple 7, Power to End Stroke and Go Red for Women.
