Adam Dorrel, the new head football coach at Northwest Missouri State, was at a meet-and-greet in Platte City Saturday night.
Dorrel got the job after the untimely death of Coach Scott Bostwick.
Bostwick, just 49 years old, died of a heart attack in June. He was on the Bearcat staff since 1994, but got the head coaching job in the off season after long time coach Mel Tjeerdsma retired.
"I had mixed emotions. It was tough dealing with Scott, because he was a friend of mine," said Adam Dorrel. "But on the other end of that, I was excited to have the opportunity to leave my alma mater and excited about the challenge ahead."
Shortly after Bostwick died, Dorrel was named head coach.
