Karen Fuller
Karen Fuller co-anchors KCTV5's weeknight newscasts. Before joining KCTV5 in October 2003, Karen was the weeknight co-anchor for KATV in Little Rock, Ark.
A native of Jonesboro, Ark., Karen has lived in Chicago and Paris. Karen earned her bachelor's degree in radio/television from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She began her on-air career as a weekend anchor for KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa, after working part-time or internships at WHO-TV and KCCI in Des Moines, WFLD in Chicago, and KARK in Little Rock. In Mason City, Karen was quickly promoted to weekday morning and noon anchor, where she even ran her own teleprompter with a foot pedal!
Karen has been nominated for three Emmy awards, and is the recipient of an award by the Society of Professional Journalists in the category of enterprise reporting. She has also covered stories in Ivory Coast, Italy Belgium, and Cuba, as well as having the responsibility for coverage of the 1996 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Karen has two children. In her free time she enjoys playing with the kids whether it's swimming, going to movies, playing the Wii, or painting ceramics. She also loves time at the gym, social networking, fishing, and traveling. Karen says the most gratifying part of her job at KCTV5 is getting to meet the many loyal and friendly viewers in person.
