KCTV5, MyKSMO Launch Hispanic Show, 'Que Pasa, KC?'

KCTV5 and MyKSMO-TV announce Kansas City’s first local television show focusing on the Hispanic community in Kansas City, ¿Que Pasa, KC?."

Nearly 200,000 Hispanic/Latinos reside in KCTV5's target market and KCTV5 and MyKSMO-TV recognizes a need in our community to address the issues and culture that impact and influence our Hispanic/Latino viewers. ¿Que Pasa, KC? will focus on the integration of the Hispanic culture into the fabric of Kansas City life.

Bobby Totsch, Vice President and General Manager of KCTV5 and My KSMO-TV said, “The employees and l all agree there is a need in Kansas City for a show that focuses on the Hispanic/Latino community. Even though ¿Que Pasa, KC? will focus on the Hispanic community, this program is really targeted for all of Kansas City. I’m very proud and excited that we’re going to be able to make this happen.”

Sandra Olivas and Iris Hermosillo will host the series that will cover the important issues in the Hispanic/Latino communities -- From entertainment news to showcasing local bands, athletes, restaurants and more. ¿Que Pasa, KC? will cover it all, locally and nationally.

Debuting in February, ¿Que Pasa, KC? is a weekly show that will air Friday nights at 9:30pm on MyKSMO-TV channel 62, cable channel 10.

“I am very excited to be a part of the first Hispanic show to air on MyKSMO-TV and KCTV5," Olivas said. "We are going to have so much fun talking about the Latino culture, fabulous food and entertainment. I grew up right here in KC and I can't wait to showcase the positive events and programs happening in our community.”

“I am very excited to be involved in such a great project," Hermosillo said. "I believe this show will give a voice to Latinos in this area. ¿Que Pasa, KC? will give everyone a glimpse into "la cultura hispana", the Hispanic culture. Most of all, I look forward to having a fun, energetic show.”
