Ty Wilson joined the KCTV5 News team in August 2005. He has covered live, late-breaking and investigative news on every possible shift at KCTV5. Currently he serves as an afternoon general assignment reporter.

He came to Kansas City from the CBS affiliate in Jacksonville, Fla. Ty covered several major hurricanes that hit the Florida peninsula in 2004, including Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne.

Ty lives in Kansas City, Mo. He likes animals and enjoys volunteering in his free time.
