Dana Wright

Dana Wright co-anchors More In The Morning with Chris Pisano.

Dana is a lifelong Kansan who has never strayed far from home. Dana grew up in Topeka, Kan., and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in broadcast journalism.

She began her career in broadcasting at WIBW in Topeka, where she worked as a health reporter and anchored the main evening newscasts. Dana left Topeka and joined KCTV5 in June 2000 as a general assignment reporter.

In addition to her duties as a morning news anchor, she's currently assigned to special projects in the station's award-winning investigative unit.

Dana received a Mid-America Regional Emmy in 2007 for Jake’s Story, which detailed a local family’s journey after the death of their teenaged son.

Wright's investigation on faulty steel road reflectors across the state of Missouri earned her and the KCTV5 Investigative team a Gold award by the KC Press Club.

Dana remains an avid Jayhawk fan and loves returning to Lawrence, Kan., for football games on the hill and basketball games in the fieldhouse.

She and her husband have four children and enjoy lots of fun family time around Kansas City. In rare spare moments, Dana loves to play golf. She remains a big supporter of the Wonderscope Children's Museum in Shawnee, Kan.
