The Kansas City Chiefs have approximately 5,500 tickets remaining to be sold for this Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns or face a local television blackout, team officials said.

The Chiefs have until noon on Thursday to meet the deadline or to ask the NFL for a 24-hour extension. Team officials scrambled to avoid the blackout last week meeting the goal just before the noon Friday deadline.

The Chiefs have not had a home game blacked out since November 1990.

The game is slated to be aired at noon Sunday on KCTV5.
