Christmas is a little brighter with extra help from volunteers from Habitat for Humanity and a handful of chiefs players who lent their muscle in Operation Arrowhead on Monday.

Chiefs linebacker Pat Thomas, kicker Connor Barth and 200 volunteers helped gut 80 stadium suites that are facing renovations.

"This is an incredible opportunity for our organization and for Heartland Habitat ReStore," said Tom Lally, Executive Director of Heartland Habitat for Humanity. "We're so thankful to the Kansas City Chiefs for partnering with us and for helping us make affordable housing a reality for more families in the coming year."

Crews took out cabinets, sinks, chairs, TVs and fixtures. By the end of the night, at least six tractor-trailers are expected to be filled.

"There [are] more things coming out of the suites every minute," said Lally.

The items donated will be sold at bargain costs at the Heartland Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 520 South 55th Street in Kansas City, Kan.

The Heartland Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a retail outlet where quality new and used surplus building materials are priced at 20-80 percent off retail and resold to the public. All proceeds will help fund the construction of Habitat houses within the greater Kansas City community.
