That's why Live Healthy Kansas City will work for you. You don’t have to change all at once or try to "fit" more in. Your lifestyle is a series of choices. Simply by changing the choices you already make every day, you can change your life.
What is Live Healthy Kansas City?
Live Healthy Kansas City (LHKC) is a team-based weight loss and physical activity program that will help you and your teammates make positive changes that lead to a healthier lifestyle — through increased physical activity and improved nutrition. Live Healthy Kansas City is a part of the national program, Live Healthy America (LHA). Choose to be motivated and celebrated.
How does LHKC work?
  • Friends, family members and co-workers form teams that track weight loss and/or minutes of activity during the 100 - Day Challenge.
  • Team members report their progress on a weekly basis through the LHKC Web site — www.livehealthykc.org.
  • Friendly competition can be fun and motivating, so check the leaderboard to see where your team ranks in the country or within your community or business.
  • Participants have access to the LHA Resource Center, powered by Fitness Magazine.
How do I get involved?
STEP 1: Start a Team!
  • Form a team of 2-10 people. Gather your team’s email addresses and t-shirt sizes.
STEP 2: Choose a Team Name and Captain!
  • Team captain must have an e-mail address.
STEP 3: Register Online!
  • The team captain will go to www.livehealthykc.org to register his or her team.
  • The entry fee is only $15 per participant and $10 shipping and handling per team.
  • Visit the Live Healthy America display at your local Hy-Vee in mid-January and get a $5.00 coupon towards the participation fee of Live Healthy Kansas City. If LHKC is a component of your business or organization’s wellness program and has multiple teams participating you may have been assigned a group code. Check with your Live Healthy Kansas City coordinator and register with your assigned group code, if applicable.
