Chiefs First-Round Pick Dorsey Sprains Knee

POSTED: 11:04 pm CDT August 2, 2008

(Sports Network) - Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey sprained his left knee in practice on Saturday.

According to the Kansas City Star, the fifth overall pick of this year's draft suffered the injury when he collided with another lineman during a running play.

Dorsey was then examined by medical personnel and then walked off the practice field into the locker room.

The 6-foot-2, 316-pound Dorsey signed a five-year deal last Saturday after a one-day holdout.

In 51 games (30 starts) for LSU, Dorsey was a dominating force on the defensive line, racking up 179 tackles, 13 sacks and 27 tackles for loss.

Dorsey is the second first-round pick of Kansas City to be injured in camp as left tackle Branden Albert, who was taken 15th overall, sprained his foot during practice on Thursday.
