(Sports Network) - Darrell Hackney was 17-of-26 passing for 208 yards and a touchdown, while Keary Colbert had five catches for 105 yards and a score to lead the Denver Broncos in a 28-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in the final preseason tuneup for both teams.

Michael Pittman had six touches totaling eight yards and a TD, while adding a pair of grabs for six yards for the Broncos (2-2), who open their regular season at Oakland on Monday, September 8th. Rookie Anthony Alridge had 23 carries for 110 yards and two catches for 13 yards. Wesley Woodyard had six tackles and two sacks while forcing a fumble in the win.

Matt Leinart hit on 10-of-14 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown for the Cardinals (2-2), who open their regular season on September 7 at San Francisco. Fighting for the starting job with Leinart, Kurt Warner was 4-of-4 for 48 yards. J.J. Arrington had five carries for 31 yards and found the end zone once in the loss. Leonard Pope had a pair of receptions for 25 yards, one of which went for a score.

Matt Prater put the Broncos up 3-0 with a 32-yard field goal late in the opening frame.

Leinart found Pope on a 17-yard touchdown pass to put Arizona on top 7-3 with 11:25 remaining in the second. Pittman, though, ran in a one-yard score to cap a 10-play, 74-yard drive that gave Denver its three-point lead back.

Arrington then broke a 26-yard touchdown run to put the Cardinals ahead 14-10 heading into the break.

Denver pulled within one as Prater nailed a 38-yard field goal to open the final stanza and the Broncos jumped on top, 21-14, as Colbert hauled in an 87- yard touchdown pass from Hackney and the quarterback ran in a two-point conversion with 8:51 showing on the clock.

Jack Williams picked off Anthony Morelli and ran it back 89 yards to give the Broncos a 28-14 lead late in the fourth.
