Smithville Woman Dies In 169 Highway Crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police have released the identification of the woman who was killed in a crash on US 169 Highway on Thursday afternoon.Teresa Lizar, 51, of Smithville, died in a multi-car crash on 169 Highway near Englewood Road. Police said one vehicle that was headed south clipped another vehicle and then swerved into oncoming traffic. Officers said 10 cars were involved in the crash.Two other people were injured and are expected to be OK. Crews closed down the highway for several hours while they cleaned up wreckage from the crash.
