KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Temperatures dropped into single digits Tuesday morning, which can present problems as people start their day.

The biggest concern for many is ice. Throughout the Kansas City area, areas that had been wet on Monday have completely iced over. Some downtown sidewalks were completely iced over, making walking treacherous.

Authorities said several accidents throughout the metro area were caused by the icy roads.

Several local police officials advised drivers to keep speeds under control and be aware of any spots that might have black ice.
