KCMO, Area Schools Cancel Classes For Friday

Cold, Snow Force Districts To Call Off School

The cold and snowy conditions have forced several area school districts to cancel classes again on Friday.

A partial list of some of the major districts in the area who will not have classes includes Kansas City, Mo., Leavenworth, Blue Valley, Olathe, Kansas City, Kan., Eudora, Baldwin, Lawrence, Shawnee Mission, De Soto, Tonganoxie, Harrisonville, Raytown, Odessa, Grandview, Grain Valley, Oak Grove, Bonner Springs, North Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Park Hill, Liberty, Blue Springs, Raymore-Peculiar, Hickman Mills, Belton, Liberty and Independence.

Be sure to check the school closings list for more listings.

Much of the Kansas City metro area has seen between 3 and 6 inches of snow. Cold and blowing conditions are expected to continue through the day on Thursday and into Friday.
