Officials from the Kansas City, Mo., School District have canceled classes for Thursday.

All central office staff, principals, vice principals, psychologists, secretaries, custodians, truancy officers, skilled trades, and security officers are required to report to work as scheduled, district officials said.

Other metro area schools that have called off classes include Lawrence, Ottawa, Kansas City, Kan., Bonner Springs, North Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Raytown, Lawrence, Harrisonville, Belton, Hickman Mills, Blue Valley, Shawnee Mission, Tonganoxie, Eudora, De Soto, Olathe, Gardner-Edgerton, Turner, Grandview, Grain Valley, Oak Grove, Odessa, Blue Springs, Spring Hill, Leavenworth, Liberty, Raymore-Peculiar, Park Hill and Louisburg.
