Court documents filed in Clinton County allege a woman in charge of the county's accounting books was taking some money for herself.

Court papers said the case against Ronda VanDyke, who was a secretary for the Clinton County Economic Development Council, began building earlier this month after her boss found out she was signing his name on checks on the Development Council ledger dating back to summer and fall.

Prosecutors allege that the checks VanDyke wrote totaled more than $30,000, including a check to a St. Louis hotel.

VanDyke, 43, from Lathrop, Mo., was still in jail on Wednesday as more forgery charges were filed. The Economic Council did not have a comment.

VanDyke is also the Clinton County Zoning Administrator, which is not an elected position. She is being held on $10,000 bond and is expected back in court next week.
