Arrowhead Stadium might be empty on Friday, but by Saturday afternoon it will be packed with Kansas and Missouri fans.

On Friday, several of those fans celebrated Black Friday by buying team gear and pledging allegiance to their respective schools.

"We're here to outfit my son, Matthew, in some KU gear for the game tomorrow," Sam DeLeon, a KU fan from Kansas City, Kan., said.

Matthew will go with his dad to the game on Saturday to see his first KU football game, so they went to the Kansas Sampler in Mission, Kan., to get him a jersey for the Border Showdown, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m.

"It's so much fun, especially after last season's game," DeLeon said. "We watched the replay on TV the other night and we can't wait to see what this one brings us."

"I'm going with a friend who's for KU so it's going to be fun," said Mizzou fan Betty Wright from Shawnee. "Will we get along? Of course, she's still going to give me a ride home after we beat them."

Wright shopped for Tigers gear on the other side of the store from her friend and she's sure Missouri will beat Kansas on the gridiron on Saturday.

"KU's been losing, Mizzou's been winning," she said. "Plus, it's my birthday so they have to win."

Arrowhead is ready for the action. Crews put up the banners on Friday and the logos were painted on the field earlier in the week so they are dry and ready for the game. More than 76,000 people will fill the stands.

KU fans are being directed to park on the west side of the stadium while Missouri fans are being asked to park on the east side. Parking lot gates will open at 9:30 a.m. and stadium gates open at 12:30 p.m.
