Lee's Summit Police Search For Robber

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. -- Lee's Summit police are seeking the public's help in locating a man involved in a strong-arm robbery at the Dollar General, 172 NW Oldham Parkway.The robbery occurred around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday The clerk reported a man was at the cashiers counter purchasing a candy bar when he pushed the clerk to the side and reached into the cash drawer, taking the money, police said. The man told the cashier she would be OK if she didn't do anything.After taking the money, the clerk told police he fled on foot through the parking lot. The clerk was not injured in the robbery.The man is described as a fair or light-skinned black male who was wearing a black hooded jacket with white stripes on both sleeves. The man's hair in surveillance photographs also appears to be either gray or light in color.There is up to a $1,000 reward being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.
