LENEXA, Kan. -- An investigation into a UPS warehouse worker possible stealing items eventually led police to an alleged discovery of child pornography."We were called to investigate an employee about internal theft," Lenexa police Capt. Don Krone said.Lenexa police said they were called to the UPS shipping warehouse in Lenexa on suspicion of internal theft."The total amount of items suspected taken from UPS was over $1,000," Krone said. The employee, Nicholas Leffert, worked on the line, loading and unloading packages from trucks coming and going. When police got involved, the investigation took an unexpected turn."In handling that property, on of the things was an iPod," Krone said. The iPod itself wasn't what caught officers' attention. It's what they said had been downloaded onto it that made them take notice."Images an officer found on it appeared to be pornographic images of young juvenile males," Krone said.Police executed a search warrant at Leffert's Olathe home and seized a computer where they said they found more evidence. Leffert was arrested and charged with theft and sexual exploitation of a child under 18."A routine theft investigation that turned into a case of sexual exploitation of a child," Krone said.
