Two men gave themselves up after a standoff Saturday, which started after they ran from a store where police said they robbed and fatally shot a store clerk.

The robbers went into a Mexican grocery store at 12th Street and Askew Road, where police said the clerk chased after the robbers, who shot the man to death.

The two robbers ran into an apartment building on 11th Street, where they held officers at bay.

"I ended up sitting here watching on my porch as the SWAT went inside and cleared a lady and a baby out," neighbor William Karman said.

After three hours, the suspects eventually gave themselves up to police.

On Sunday, prosecutors charged Travis L. Knott, 19, and Clifford V. Jackson, 20, both of Kansas City, Mo., with second degree murder and first degree robbery in the case.

A vigil is planned Sunday for the shooting victim.
