KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The North Kansas City School District is reorganizing its resources in an effort to keep from cutting employees."Right now, we're expecting about $7 million in our next fiscal year," said school board President Spencer Field. "And then, after that, we'll continue to struggle based on the economy and state funding and such."That's the struggle that led school board members to vote in favor of Superintendent Todd White's proposal to eliminate more than 20 jobs within the central office -- most of which are leadership positions. Fifty percent of the employees who get cut could end up working in a different job for the district, officials said.Field said changes will happen in three phases that will be completed by February with a total savings of up to $3 million.
