UPDATED: 9:10 am CST November 20, 2009

A car Lenexa police attempted to stop ended up leading officers on a chase across the state line and into Kansas City, Mo.

The chase started around 2 a.m. when Lenexa officers said they noticed a suspicious vehicle near 95th Street and Quivira Road. When officers attempted to investigate, they said the car fled the scene.

Police said the driver took the car onto Interstate 35 and Kansas City officers picked up the pursuit at I-35 and the 18th Street Expressway.

Around 2:45 a.m., Kansas City police officers stopped the car at Truman and Olive streets. The front tires of the car were blown out.

Four people in the vehicle were taken into custody -- all of them wanted on felony warrants, police said.
