CLAY COUNTY, Mo. -- Authorities in Clay County are hoping the public will help to figure out if the items found on a property near Missouri City were stolen. The property owner and his girlfriend claim they are not, but deputies continue to investigate the massive amount of merchandise found on the rural property. The property is loaded with items that a person might find at a lawn and garden store, a sporting good store and even a sound equipment shop, according to Clay County officials.Deputies discovered shipping bins filled with items in early November at a location on Stillhouse Road. They recovered six stolen cars on the property and are trying to determine if all of the other items were stolen. It took more than two dozen officers more than two weeks to log the inventory and sort through it all. People can log onto the county's Web site to inquire about the items.Billy Garrison and his girlfriend have been seeking legal advice. His girlfriend lives on the property that deputies swarmed a few weeks ago. Garrison's attorney, Larry Buccero, said Garrison refurbishes homes and his girlfriend once owned a thrift store and some of the items might have come from those enterprises and are not stolen.Persons can log on to Clay County recovered property to find out more about the items found on the property.
