LEXINGTON, Mo. -- As members of the Mohler family faced the judge again in Lafayette County on Tuesday, many of their friends and family showed up to support the men who have been charged with sex crimes against children. The supporters told KCTV5 that they don't believe the accusations despite the fact that the prosecutor has filed more charges against the five men.During Tuesday's arraignment, the judge told Burrell Mohler Sr. that he is facing eight more charges of sex crimes against children in the 1980s at his family farm. Two new charges were added against Burrell Mohler Jr., Jared Mohler and Roland Mohler. One charge was added for David Mohler. The men complained about not being allowed to see family members while they are in jail. At one point, David Mohler complained that he was not allowed to shave and groom himself before going into court.A cousin of Burrell Mohler Sr.'s first wife, Alice, told KCTV5 that he does not believe the charges against the men. He urged them to hold their heads high and to have courage."They grew up fine young men in a family of caring and loving people so there's no reason to understand why this was taking place," Bill Bruch said.Ron Gamble was among the friends who showed up to support the Mohlers. He said he's known his brother-in-law, Burrell Mohler Sr., since high school and believes the allegations are lies. He said there's no way the alleged sex acts could have happened under the watchful eye of Burrell Mohler Sr.'s wife."Believe me, if these things happened when Alice was alive she would have been on top of it and stopped it," he said. "She was very straight -- very religious. I can't believe any of it was going on when she was alive."He said he was at the family farm many times for holidays and reunions and never saw any signs that the children were being harmed. He said people should wait for the facts until making up their minds about the case. The judge set a new court date in December for the Mohlers. In the meantime, their bonds have been increased. Burrell Mohler Sr.'s bond is set at $225,000, Burrell Jr.'s is $100,000, Roland's is $80,000, Jared's is $100,000, and David's is $70,000.
